For the past few weeks I’ve been running a game in person for coworkers at the office. And it’s been the first in-person game in a while I’ve run regularly, which has me examining what I carry and what I need. I have this old one page condensed GM screen I made years ago so I could laminate it and put a grid on the back to use as a white board of sorts. It’s good, but it’s a lot of information mashed together with a fair bit unused at this point of DMing for 8+ years in 5e and a total of about 15 or so years.
I have two areas on my big sheet I use frequently. Spell area effects and quick monster stats. And one area I miss not having on it for modifications to make monsters unique in combat. So I’ve started writing down the 5e quick monster guidelines from the Lazy 5e Monster Building Resource Document, pulling some abilities from the SRD, and a few of my own I have built over the years.
